Caryn Cohen (Violin)

Caryn studied with Jean Harvey & Lydia Mordkovitch at the Royal Academy of Music.  Prizes awarded there included the JC Wyse bequest and a place in the World Youth Orchestra.  She has done extensive orchestral work ranging from symphonic to opera and ballet.  She has worked with many famous names including Itzhak Perlman, Joshua Bell, Maxim Vengerov and Luciano Pavarotti. Concerto performances include Mendelssohn, Bruch & Bach with the Cape Town Philharmonic orchestra.  Commercial work includes videos for Vanessa Mae & Gabrielle, and a Beatles tribute album.

Caryn is very committed to music education and coaches several young chamber groups.

 

Emma studied the violin at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.

As well as playing with the Regent Quartet, she has a busy freelance career, playing with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, English National Ballet and London Mozart players. 

She has worked with, amongst others, Luciano Pavarotti, Russell Watson, The Opera Babes and Tony Hadley.  She recently played with the London Philharmonic in their recording of “The Lord of the Rings” soundtrack.

 

Sarah Turner (Viola)

Having  graduated with a degree in Music at Exeter University where she led the University Symphony Orchestra, Sarah completed her music studies at the Royal Academy of Music under John White. She came second place in both viola competitions whilst studying at the Royal Academy, (the Theodore Holland and Max Gilbert annual viola competitions) and with the quartet, won the coveted John B McEwan string quartet prize.

Currently, Sarah divides her time between performing with the quartet; recording & TV work, including the video for the McFly single “All About You”, freelancing with London Orchestras and coaching & teaching a variety of students.

Helen graduated with a degree in music from Manchester University where she studied the ‘cello with Bernard Gregor-Smith of the Lindsay Quartet and won the Procter Gregg prize for solo performance. She then went on to postgraduate study at the Royal Academy of Music, where she was a founder member of the Regent String Quartet.

As well as a busy schedule with the Regent String Quartet, Helen also freelances with London orchestras and plays for shows. She has worked with names such as Nigel Kennedy and Julian Lloyd Webber, and recently supported KanYe West on stage at the Brit Awards, on Top of the Pops and recording for his forthcoming videos.
